Not everything we publish is an investigation. A news brief reports what happened. An investigation asks why — and then proves it.
Our investigations are long-form, sourced, and documented. They begin with a tip or a pattern of behavior, follow a trail of public records, financial disclosures, contracts, and court filings, and don’t publish until we can show our work. Every claim in an investigation is supported by documents, on-record sources, or both. When officials are named, they are given a full opportunity to respond before publication.
This section is where we publish those reports. They take weeks or months to produce. Some have legal implications. Many face pushback before they ever reach you.
